One of the unfortunate realities of life is that some people have adopted the philosophy of
"that's the way we've always done it, so that's the way we'll always do it" (sigh...). A writer from the
New York Times examines the sacred ritual of batting practice in baseball in an article linked
here. There are definitely different philosophies out there concerning batting practice, and the author examines those philosophies in the article. Either way, be careful of falling into the mentality of
"that's the way we've always done it."
